Abstract:
According to the characteristics of shear wall cross section, a new type of piecewise confinement stirrup is adopted to improve the curvature ductility of high performance concrete shear wall. Based on the section property and special stirrups configuration, the effect of piecewise confinement stirrup on curvature ductility of cross section for high performance concrete shear wall are analyzed, and the calculation formulas used for evaluating the yield curvature and ultimate curvature of shear wall cross section are presented. Then, the relationship among the curvature ductility of shear wall cross section, the relative depth of compression zone, and the quantities of confinement stirrups are derived. Experimental results and sample analysis indicate that the effect of confinement stirrup on the ultimate curvature for cross section of shear wall is much more significant than that on the yield curvature. The curvature ductility of shear wall cross section is related to the axial compression ratio, the quantities of piecewise confinement stirrup, and the length of confinement zone. It is indicated that the curvature ductility and deformation capacity analysis method for high performance concrete shear wall cross section are practical and have sufficient safety and reliability.
