Performance and Mechanism for De-Fluorination by Modified Aluminum Hydroxide in Zinc Sulfate Solution

摘要:
Adsorption performance for modified aluminum hydroxide by roasting to fluorine ion was studied by static experiments in this current study. Use of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and specific surface area analysis methods were used to characterize structures and properties of the aluminum hydroxide. The impact of the amount of adsorbent, adsorption time, temperature and pH in adsorption performance were also studied. Moreover, the adsorption model and dynamics mechanism for the de-fluoridation process were also studied. The results showed that the microstructure of aluminum hydroxide was changed and adsorption capacity increased by roasting. The adsorption capacity for the modified aluminum hydroxide reached 3.68 mg/g under following conditions: 40 _C temperature, 4 pH, and 25 min adsorption time. The adsorption of the modified aluminum hydroxide into fluorine ion was conducted by Freundlich adsorption model. The adsorption rate for the fluoride ion on the modified aluminum hydroxide was external diffusion.
