摘要:Variations of diameter and density that indicate the stability of aerobic granules are frequently out of control and consequently result in failure operation of granular sludge systems. An innovative technology, which could well control the diameter and density of aerobic granules, is therefore developed. There are two-way selective pressures, one is the short settling time, selecting big and dense granules in the reactor, the other is the special sludge removal technology, wasting out the potentially dangerous big and dense granules. By this means, the removed granules were bigger and denser than those remained in the reactor, consequently it could successfully maintain the size in a reasonable range for a long-term operation. Concerning on the metabolic behaviour, the maintenance coefficient was 0.08-0.10 and 10%-13% influent COD was used for maintenance metabolic activity, which was 5-9 folds of conventional granular sludge systems. The technology may resolve the instability problem of aerobic granular systems.
