Influence of synthesis temperature on morphology of TiO2/SBA-16 materials and its photocatalyticperformance

- Abstract:A series of TiO2/SBA-16 catalysts with cubic Im3m structure was synthesized by internal hydrolysis method aiming to evaluate the effect of temperature on their structural, morphology and catalytic properties. The TiO2/SBA-16 samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and N2 adsorption/desorption techniques. It was found that the synthesized temperature has a great effect on the structural and textural characteristics of catalysts, which was suggested that the morphology transition occurred due to the change in hydrolysis and condensation rate of the silica source. The photocatalytic properties of TiO2/SBA-16 were evaluated by photodecomposition of Rhodamine B (RhB) in aqueous medium. The results indicated that the morphology of TiO2/SBA-16 had a great influence on the photocatalytic activity.
