- Abstract:Based on the experiments of 9 specimens, the cracking, failure modes, hysteretic loop, ductility, and energy dissipation are analyzed for high strength R.C. members subjected to biaxial eccentric compression, shear and low-cyclic torsion. It is shown that axial compressive stress level and relative eccentricity have great effects on the seismic performance of combined torsion members. The ductility coefficient of combined torsion member degrades with the increase of relative eccentricity and axial compressive stress level, especially when the compressive stress level is larger. The ductility coefficient of high strength R.C. combined torsion members reduced about 30%~55% of that of ordinary R.C. members. The capacity of energy dissipation of high strength R.C. combined torsion members is greater than that of ordinary R.C. member. The seismic performance theory of combined torsion members is enriched in this paper.
