利用膨润土的膨胀和稠度特性对GCL渗透系数进行预测的试验研究

摘要:Abstract:In order to evaluate the feasibility of use the free swell index and liquid limits as an indicator of hydraulic conductivity of the GCL, in this paper, two index properties (free swell index and liquid limits) of a bentonite and the hydraulic conductivity of the same GCL were measured with different concentrations of heavy metals. The results of this test show that, when the concentrations of heavy metals ranges from 0.01mol/L to 0.1mol/L, the free swell index and liquid limits deceases with increasing in concentrations of heavy metals. However, further increasing the heavy metals concentration can’t cause the two index properties decrease continually. Permeation with 0.01mol/L heavy metals solution didn’t change the hydraulic conductivity of GCL. By contrast, when the concentration of heavy metals increases up to 0.02mol/L, the hydraulic conductivity of the GCL increased by 1 to 2 orders of magnitude relative to the value obtained based on permeation with water. Results of this study show that the index properties of a bentonite have good relationships with the hydraulic conductivity of a GCL when the concentration of heavy metals in solutions beyond 0.02mol/L and they can be used to estimate the hydraulic conductivity.
