- 摘要:
- Two laboratory-scale sequencing batch reactors (RA and RB) were used to investigate the influences of chemical oxygen demand to nitrogen (COD/N) ratio on the characteristics of nitrifying activated sludge in disposing the high-strength ammonia wastewater, including the nitrification performance, morphology and physicochemical parameters. RA was operated at five different COD/N ratios (0, 2, 4, 6, 10), which was aimed to represent the carbon-rich wastewater. In RB, the COD/N ratios were at relative low level (0, 0.5, 1, 2), which represented a carbon-limited case. The characteristics of the nitrifying sludge flocs were significantly influenced in RA, but relative stable in RB. Throughout the unsteady-state changes, no strong correlation could be found between the extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) contents of the sludge with the COD/N ratio, but the ratio of proteins (PN) to polysaccharides (PS) in the EPS had a negative correlation with the COD/N ratio. There was no obvious relationship between the total amount of EPS and the physicochemical characteristics of the sludge. However, regardless of loosely bound EPS and tightly bound EPS, the PN and the ratio of PN/PS were strongly correlated with the flocculation, settleability, dewaterability and surface properties of the nitrifying activated sludge.
