Abstract:
The timing and circle counting method plays an important role in long-distance running race. But due to the difficulties in balancing the scope of application, accuracy and cost, the efficiency of this traditional method is not quite satisfactory. To address this problem, a novel computer-aided circle counting method is proposed. First, the cost-effectiveness ratio of traditional counting methods is modeled. Then, based on the model, a novel computeraided circle counting method is proposed, and its detailed design is also given. Finally, the cost-effectiveness ratio of this method on various racing scales is analyzed, and its results are compared with those of traditional methods. The results show that this novel method has a higher recording accuracy while keeping a lower cost. Therefore, its cost-effectiveness ratio is suitable for many racing scales, which provides a new way for accurate timing and circle counting in long-distance running races.
