Chuangyao Zhao is an Associate Professor, Ph.D. supervisor, visiting scholar at Imperial College London, Category D high-level talent introduced by Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (2018), Yanta Scholar of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (2020), and a core member of a Huang Danian-style national university teaching team. He received his Ph.D. from the School of Energy and Power Engineering at Xi’an Jiaotong University, under the supervision of Academician Wenquan Tao. His research focuses on enhanced heat transfer in phase change processes and energy-saving technologies in buildings.
He has presided over one General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and one General Program of the Natural Science Foundation of Shaanxi Province. Additionally, he has served as a key research member in one NSFC Key Program and one National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program).
To date, he has published over 70 papers in high-impact international journals such as Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Energy Conversion and Management, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, and Applied Thermal Engineering (see full list at: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Chuang-Yao-Zhao). He holds three authorized invention patents and has an H-index of 26.
He also serves as a board member of the Shaanxi Refrigeration Society and a young editorial board member of the core Chinese journal Thermal Power Generation.
