Abstract:
What would happen when government implements a policy? Study of complex socioeconomic systems, such as policy response system, requires a sophisticated approach for modelling and simulation. Multi-agent modelling and simulation is becoming popular in various fields and especially in social and economic studies, as it provides a bottom-up approach to domains of high complexity. The Swarm, an agent based platform can be an effective tool to model individual and group behaviours. First, this paper analyzes the gaming simulation between the enterprise and government about environmental policy. Then, using the Swarm, an agent based platform, a model is built to simulate the group behaviours for various environmental policies. Last, introducing the concept of “accumulate punishment mechanism” to help government take the appropriate punishment. The graphic simulation and analysis of the model makes the possible results of policy implementation clear, and benefits governmental decision-making as well.
