- Abstract:
- The work aims at the dynamic characteristics of the titanium alloy cutting system and the formation dynamic mechanism of surface roughness. A dynamic model of single⁃degree⁃of⁃freedom tool⁃workpiece vibration system was established. The dynamic characteristic of tool vibration was studied through the value simulation of the model. Through experiments on a centerless lathe,the tool tip vibration acceleration signal was collected and the surface roughness was measured. The wavelet packet decomposition was adopted to analyze and process the acceleration signal. The results show that the amplitude of the tool tip vibration acceleration increases with the increase of the feed rate. The energy value of each wavelet packet of the acceleration vibration signal after the wavelet packet decomposition is lower,reflecting the higher surface roughness. The relative fluctuation value of the wavelet packet energy in the high⁃frequency part of the tool tip vibration signal shows the same trend as the cutting surface roughness. The larger the relative fluctuation value of the energy,the greater the surface roughness.
