Research interests include sustainable urban–rural development in Northwest China, urban and rural planning and design, urban regeneration, and the adaptive reuse of underutilized assets. Over ten papers have been published as first author in leading academic journals, including six indexed in SSCI, A&HCI, and CSSCI. Four papers have been presented at national and international academic conferences. Publications also include one academic monograph and contributions to five technical monographs. Two policy briefs have been published, one of which received a positive written endorsement from a principal official at the provincial level.
As principal investigator, six research and consultancy projects have been completed, including projects funded at the provincial and ministerial levels and commissions from the Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission and municipal governments. Participation has also extended to eight major research projects, including the National Key R&D Program of China under the 14th Five-Year Plan, a major strategic consulting project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Research achievements have received two second prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels, as well as one grand prize and one first prize at the departmental and bureau levels. Supervised students have won one national first prize and one Shaanxi provincial first prize in the “Challenge Cup” National Undergraduate Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest.
